A large tree fell across a two-lane roadway in Casa de Oro today, shearing off a fire hydrant and striking a power pole, authorities said.
A SigAlert was issued at 5:50 a.m. after the tree fell in the 10000 block of Buena Vista Drive, near Barcelona Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The tree and water flowing from the damaged hydrant were expected to keep south Barcelona Street and west Buena Vista Drive inaccessible for several hours, the CHP reported.
No other details were immediately reported.
