According to the California Highway Patrol, the SUV went off the road around 3 p.m. Monday, rolled over and crashed into a tree.
The woman driving the SUV, 73-year-old Charlotte Lorraine Winn of Julian, was airlifted to Palomar Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Her 68-year-old husband was taken to Sharp Hospital with moderate injuries.
