News 8 viewers were given a chance to name one of SeaWorld's female dolphin calves who is sure to star in their new show, "Blue Horizons." The calf was born June 18 to a first-time mom who will also perform in the new show, which is set to debut in May 2010.
Below is the list of names viewers chose from.
Kailani (k¥-lani), which in Hawaiian means "sea and sky" and matches Blue Horizons' theme
Juno, which is Juno beach in Florida
Marina, which is the name of the young girl in the new show whose vivid imagination sets the stage for an extravaganza of graceful dolphins, magnificent pilot whales and a rainbow of exotic birds
Koa, which in Hawaiian means brave, bold, fearless, valiant and courage, (and this also happens to depict the calf's current behavior and that of Pacific bottlenose dolphins historically)
Lava, a Hawaiian molten rock that's dark in coloration when cooled
The winning name? Drum roll please....
KAILANI - 51.5%
Juno - 5.2%
Marina - 7.0%
Koa - 28.3%
Lava - 8%
