SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) -- A driver was taken into custody after a pursuit, which ended in a crash in North Park, injuring officers Friday night.
San Diego Police say they began pursuing the intoxicated driver who was a parolee in a stolen vehicle before 9 p.m. Friday. News 8 crews at the scene on Utah Street near El Cajon Boulevard reported a total of 12 damaged cars.
In his attempts to get away, the suspect smashed into several cars, including some that were parked. He then crashed into the patrol car. Two officers in that car suffered minor injuries. A third officer was bitten by a police canine as the suspect was subdued. He's also expected to be okay.
Police say the suspect faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and felony evasion.
