
Authorities said a 35-year-old woman walking on a street was struck and killed by a pickup truck that went off a roadway, hit her, and then crashed into a house.
The crash occurred around 9:30 p.m. Saturday night in the 1200 block of Pepper Drive in an unincorporated area north of El Cajon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The pickup driven by a woman went off the roadway, struck the woman, a parked car and mail boxes, said CHP Officer Brian Pennings.
According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office, the truck also crashed into a house.
The woman was rushed to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly before midnight, according to the Medical Examiner's Office. Her name was not released, pending notification of family.
Information on the driver was not immediately available.
