SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CNS) - Three men were in custody and one other was being sought after an armed robbery today at a marijuana cooperative in East San Diego, police said.
The robbers, at least one of whom displayed a handgun, entered The Giving Tree at 6186 University Ave. shortly after 10 a.m., San Diego police Detective Gary Hassen said.
Two of them were arrested shortly after the heist when the car they were fleeing in was involved in a collision on nearby Malcolm Drive, Hassen said.
Officer Daniel McLaughlin said a third suspect was arrested later.
Lt. Ken Hubbs told a local television station that the suspects took an unknown amount of marijuana.
