Wild nights in Alpine

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - Imagine spending a romantic evening in the serenity of the backcountry, just you and your sweetie snuggled up in front of a roaring fire, sharing a glass of wine in a cozy cottage for two and stepping out onto your own private oak-shrouded balcony. It would surely be a night to remember, and wouldn't even have to bring an alarm clock, because you'll get your own personal wake-up call.

"This is White Oak Wild Night and this is your opportunity to come with us and stay the night with all the animals," Bobbi Brink of Lions, Tigers & Bears said.

White Oak Wild Nights is located on the grounds of Lions, Tigers and Bears, a private sanctuary that offers a safe haven for rescued exotic animals.

"You'll get to see when they're sleeping, you'll get to see when they are fed, you'll get to just roam the sanctuary and watch them play and run," Bobbi said. "You can go out at night and see the stars and hear all the sounds they make at night."

Lions, Tigers & Bears rents out White Oak Wild Nights by the night.

"It averages about $550 a night and that includes your continental breakfast and of course your behind-the-scenes visit. You get to fee the lions and tiger up close," Bobbi said.

And you know you'll be helping the inhabitants, because a portion of the cost of your night's stay will go toward improving the quality of life for these formerly neglected, abused or abandoned animals.

So whether you're looking to get in touch with your personal tiger or just looking to paw your way through a perfect evening, come take a walk on the wild side at White Oak Wild Nights.
