California's financial crisis could leave beachgoers high and dry. The money that the county relied on to pay for water quality testing has been slashed, but Scripps researchers say they may have a tool that cold help protect beachgoers from pollution by diving beneath the surface.
Although the County of San Diego had to stop conducting routine water quality testing, there are ways we can ensure the ocean is clean enough to go swimming. Researchers at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography share with us some of the tools of the trade.
