STUDENTS:

  • Understand violence is learned.
  • If you see violence around you, realize it's not normal, get help so you don't model that behavior.
  • Talk to an adult you trust.
  • If you get angry easily, talk to your parents or counselor.
  • Understand you won't get along with everyone, but work on accepting differences.

PARENTS:

  • Understand violence is learned, never model physically or verbally abusive behavior.
  • Get professional help if needed.
  • If your child shows signs of violence, get professional help.
  • Help your child understand and accept people's differences.
  • Model tolerance and acceptance.

SCHOOLS:

  • Make sure counselors are available to students for "one-on-one" guidance.
  • Create activities to foster diversity and acceptance.
