Southern Calif. Crowds Anticipate President Obama's Arrival

Posted: Updated:

Crowds are gathering in Orange County Wednesday to see President Obama speak and at least one San Diegan was hoping to be among them.

People camped out as early as Tuesday night to get free tickets to the president's town hall meeting at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Lines snaked around the parking lot with an estimated 2,000 people on hand trying to get a ticket.

San Diegan Julian Quinones waited for four hours, but he came home Tuesday night empty handed. He says there's a lot of excitement about the president's visit.

"This was like a rock concert, like Britney Spears or something. People waiting in line all day, like when the new Wii comes out. It was like that," said Quinonez.

President Obama will hold another town hall meeting in Los Angeles Thursday, after visiting a plant that makes hybrid cars in Pomona.

This is President Obama's first visit to Southern California since his election.
