3 Suspects Wanted In College-Area Home Invasion Robbery

Posted: Updated:
Three thieves walked into an unlocked College-area home today, bound the residents and stole cash and possessions, including a marijuana water pipe, authorities said.

The three university students who live in the residence in the 6600 block of Montezuma Road reported that they awoke about 8:15 a.m. to find the intruders "on top of them," San Diego police spokeswoman Monica Munoz said.

The bandits tied up the victims, then grabbed some money, a computer and a bong before fleeing, according to Munoz.

The residents, who were uninjured, provided only sketchy descriptions of the robbers, one of whom had dreadlocks.

The fact that the victims reported illegal drug paraphernalia stolen could open them up to a citation should officers recover the cannabis pipe, Munoz said. In any case, police would not return the bong to them, she noted.
