RealAge.com Selling Information To Drug Companies

Posted: Updated:

It's an online quiz that's sweeping the internet because of the popularity of Dr. Mehmet Oz, who's always on "Oprah." Now we're learning a Sorrento Valley company behind RealAge.com is selling your information to drug companies.

RealAge.com asks 150 questions to calculate your biological age - that's how young or old your habits make you.

The New York Times says drug companies pay RealAge to compile answers to bombard users with junk mail or email about medications.

"Always, always read the privacy policy. If you're not comfortable with the privacy policy, then don't participate," a local privacy expert said.

RealAge.com says the website warns users that it will share their information with third parties.
