Judge to Decide if Student-Murder Case Goes to Trial

Posted: Updated:
A judge may decide next week if there is enough evidence for a student-murder case to head to trial.

A police detective testified about a deadly stabbing he investigated near San Diego State University in October 2008. Mesa College student Luis Santos was killed and three others were injured.

Four people are accused of murder, including Esteban Nunez, the son of former assembly speaker Fabian Nunez. They claim they acted in self-defense during a fight.

A detective claims witnesses saw otherwise.

Prosecutors claim the accused got angry and wanted revenge after being turned away from a fraternity party.

A judge's decision was expected Friday, but the case has been continued into next week.
