Spring Break Tourism Down Sharply in Mexico

As expected, the drug violence in Mexico is causing a sharp decline in spring break tourism this year.

Beach towns are usually crowded with college students this time of year.

However, hotel occupancy has fallen to about 25 or 30 percent, according to the president of the Rosarito Hotel Association. That is compared to 65 percent last year.
