The California Highway Patrol reported Sunday that two people were killed and three others injured when a speeding Mustang crashed on a San Diego highway and all five were ejected.

The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. on westbound Highway 94 near College Grove Way, said Officer Brian Pennings.

Officers said the driver of a speeding Ford Mustang lost control, sending the car up an embankment. The car flipped several times, and all five people in the car were thrown from the vehicle.

Officers said no one was wearing a seatbelt.

Julio Ruelas, 22, and Ramon Garcia Jr., 19, both of San Diego, died at the scene, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

The other three victims were hospitalized, and one of them, a girl, is in extremely critical condition, Pennings said.

Investigators said underaged drinking may have been a factor in the crash, but they have not identified the driver.
