Padres Start New Season Monday Night Against The Dodgers

It's the day baseball fans have been waiting for - opening day is here. Big crowds are expected at Petco Park Monday night as the Padres start a new season, opening against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

No matter what the predictions are, everybody's World Series dream is alive, as opening day brings renewed spirit all over baseball.

Sunday, fans got a chance to meet and greet their favorite players and most say they can't wait to get the season started.

The first pitch is at 4:05 p.m. Monday. Jake Peavy gets the start for the Padres.

Meanwhile, to avoid traffic jams, city officials are encouraging fans to ride the San Diego Trolley into downtown.
