Fans Welcome Michigan State Team Back To Campus

Posted: Updated:

EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State fans are welcoming the NCAA tournament runnerup back to campus.

Coach Tom Izzo and his Spartans returned to the Breslin Center on the East Lansing campus on Tuesday. They were greeted by enthusiastic fans, who sang the school fight song and chanted "Go Green, Go White!"

Izzo, in a hoarse voice, thanked the crowd for its support.

North Carolina defeated Michigan State 89-72 in Monday night's championship game at Ford Field in Detroit.

Michigan State won the Big Ten regular season championship and advanced to the title game by defeating Connecticut in a national semifinal.
