Public Hearing to Determine Where Sexual Predator Will Live

Posted: Updated:
A public hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon over a decision to place a sexually violent predator near an Otay Mesa prison.

Matthew Hedge was going to be placed in Ramona, but nearby residents won a battle to keep him out of their neighborhood.

A judge ruled in February that Hedge should be released on an outpatient basis.

He was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to molesting four children.

Hedge was released in 2005, but returned to prison in early 2006 for violating his treatment policy.
