Record Heat to Be Followed by Cooler Temps the Rest of the Week

Posted: Updated:
Just one day after many areas of San Diego experienced record-high temperatures, the National Weather Service says cooler weather is on the way.

Highs along and coast and inland will be in the mid-80s Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. The temperature will be dropping every day and, by Sunday, the projected high temperature for San Diego is 65 degrees, according to the NWS.

Wednesday's high will be near 72 and patchy fog is expected during the morning hours until Saturday, according to NWS.

The cooldown will mark a drastic change from the high temperatures that scorched the San Diego area Sunday and Monday -- a period when records were broken.
