Rodman Heads For Rehab

Posted: Updated:

Former basketball star Dennis Rodman has reportedly agreed to undergo rehab in his long-running battle against alcohol addiction.

The athlete-turned-reality-TV-star will receive treatment and counseling at an outpatient facility in the U.S.

Friends and family had urged him to check in to the clinic for around-the-clock care -- but Rodman refused because he wants to attend a reunion party with his fellow Celebrity Apprentice contestants on Sunday.

A spokesman for the star said Rodman decided to take action after pals, including his former Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson, convinced him to seek help.

The rep tells E! Online, "We all know how amazing he is when sober and we hope he gets there soon... He will be in New York City for the (Celebrity Apprentice) finale next Sunday."
