Temperatures Expected To Reach Near-Record Highs

Posted: Updated:
It's going to be a hot weekend. Temperatures are expected to reach near-record highs, soaring to the low 100s in parts of San Diego County.

The hottest day is expected to be Sunday, with inland temperatures about 12 to 18 degrees above normal.

Highs on Sunday could reach the mid-90s in the inland valleys and low 100s in the lower deserts. However, the marine influence should help coastal
areas stay in the mid-70s, according to the Weather Service.

San Diegans are encouraged to avoid strenuous outdoor activity, during the hottest part of the day, wear light clothing, and drink plenty of non-alcoholic fluids. Drivers are also warned not leave pets in enclosed vehicles - even if it's only for a short time.
