Rock-N-Roll Organizers Will Return Public Subsidies & Grants

Posted: Updated:
Organizers of the Rock-n-Roll Marathon will return more than $340,000 of public subsidies and grants.

That's because an independent audit shows the money should never have gone to the event in the first place.

The audit was paid for by the company that took over the event last year.

It showed that marathon organizer Elite Racing overstated the role of the affiliated charity that co-hosted the event.

Elite racing is based in San Diego and is one the country's largest race promoters.
