Jorge Munoz, 24, is accused of killing Pedro Ramirez, 36, whose body was found in the bedroom of his apartment shortly after midnight May 29, said San Diego police Lt. Kevin Rooney.
Authorities believe Ramirez invited Munoz, an acquaintance, to the apartment in the early morning hours of May 28.
"The pair spent several hours together before (Munoz) strangled Ramirez," Rooney said.
Munoz was arrested Wednesday night at his home in the 5800 block of Dwight Street and booked into jail on suspicion of murder.
