DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) - Amtrak and commuter train service has been delayed in San Diego County because a pedestrian was struck and killed on the tracks before dawn Friday in the Del Mar area.
Sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton says the Coaster commuter train struck the pedestrian at Coast Boulevard and 15th Street shortly before 6 a.m. There are no details about the victim.
The North County Transit District, operators of the Coaster train service, rail service is expected to be delayed in both directions for several hours.
