Gas Prices Fall Slightly After Rising for 46 Consecutive Days

Posted: Updated:
The Auto Club reported that the average price of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell a half-cent to $3.009 Saturday, the eighth consecutive daily decline after rising 46 consecutive days.

The average price is 3.5 cents less than a week ago and $1.587 less than a year ago but 33.1 cents more than last month, according to figures provided by the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

"After racing through the $3 level last week, gasoline prices hit the brakes this week," Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California said.

"For many weeks, we've seen price increases that were not in line with lower relative demand and high supplies. We'll have to see if this moderation continues through the July Fourth holiday next week."
