Help Coroner ID Man Who Died while Exercising at Seaport Village

Posted: Updated:
The coroner's office is seeking the public's help in identifying a man who collapsed at Seaport Village and died at a hospital a short time later.

The man, who appeared to have been in his 40s, was stricken at the bayside shopping and dining center late Thursday morning, apparently while exercising, according to the county Medical Examiner's Office.

An ambulance crew took him to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he was pronounced dead about 11:45 a.m. Thursday.

He was described as a roughly 6-foot-tall, 195-pound white man with graying black hair, green eyes and no visible scars or tattoos. At the time of his death, he was wearing athletic shorts and red-and-silver ASICS-brand running shoes.

A cause-of-death ruling was on hold pending autopsy results.
