Chargers' Merriman Hoping To Get Some Playing Time In Pre-Season
One of the main stories for the Chargers this pre-season will be the health of linebacker Shawne Merriman.
He's returned to the field for the first time since last September, when he underwent surgery to repair two ligaments in his left knee. He says the knee is 100 percent now.
He's been participating in some drills, but has been left out of others as a precaution.
This Sunday, the team will work out in full pads. Merriman doesn't know whether he'll be allowed to, but he hopes at some point this pre-season he'll get a chance to hit someone.
"I'd better get one play man, I'd better get one play. I'll be furious if I don't get one play. I might not make it, but I just want to hit somebody and go the sidelines. If I get that I'm happy. I expect to play a little bit. Hopefully I'll be allowed to get on the field," Merriman said.
