Water main break leaves residents in Chollas Creek dry

Posted: Updated:

Authorities said a water main break closed a major thoroughfare through the Chollas Creek neighborhood and left dozens of businesses and residents without water.

The break happened just after 6 a.m. Sunday and forced the closure of Federal Boulevard between 48th and Mary Lou streets, Officer Jane Jacobson said.

Seventy customers were without water, and repairs on the 12-inch pipe will take until sometime tonight, said Kurt Kidman at the city of San Diego Water Department.
