Authorities hope additional surveillance video released today will help them nab a suspected arsonist in connection with a fire in a University City parking garage.

Derek Jones, 29, is being sought for the fire that occurred June 10 at 3425 Lebon Drive, San Diego fire-rescue spokesman Maurice Luque said.

Jones' alleged accomplice, 21-year-old Diana Dypvik, surrendered to authorities Sept. 10 and is set to be arraigned Tuesday in San Diego Superior Court on arson-related charges, according to Luque.

The fire that Jones and Dypvik allegedly set caused about $125,000 damage to two late model vehicles and a parking structure, Luque said.

During the June 10 incident, the arsonists accidentally caught their own vehicle on fire. The act was captured on surveillance video released by authorities today. The vehicle seen in the video is Jones' black GMC Yukon with a California license plate No. 4WJJ203.
