There is a San Diego connection to an international identity theft ring.
According to the FBI, Nichole Merzi, 24, was taken into custody in Vista Wednesday.
Nearly 100 others were arrested and charged in Southern California, Nevada, North Carolina and Egypt.
They're accused of sending fake emails to get personal information and stealing $1.5 million from bank accounts.
