San Diego gas prices fall for 25th consecutive day

Posted: Updated:
New figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service show that the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell to $3.008 Saturday.

The average price is 5.5 cents less than a week ago, 10.7 cents less than a month ago and 46.1 cents below this time last year, but $1.15 more than at the start of the year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price rose for 12 consecutive days, hitting yearly highs for 10 consecutive days, until the decreases began Sept. 16.

"Southern California gas prices began dropping in September about three weeks after the rest of the country, so we are continuing to see price declines while many other states are having price plateaus," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
