San Diego Animal Advoates, a non-profit animal rights organization, is offering a reward of $3000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for shooting a Muscovy duck with multiple arrows at Chollas Lake earlier this week.
"People who abuse animals seldom stop there," said Jane Cartmill, President of SDAA. "The person who deliberately hurt this duck is a danger to the public as well as to animals," she said. "The FBI has long identified animal abuse as the most reliable predictor of future violent criminal behavior."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lt. Dan DeSousa of the County Department of Animal Services at 619-767-2624.
