CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. (AP) - The military says a Marine driving at Camp Pendleton has been killed in a collision with a military Humvee.
The accident occurred Wednesday morning at Basilone and Las Pulgas roads on the grounds of the base, according to a Marine statement. The Marine was the driver of a personal vehicle when it collided with the Humvee at the intersection.
The Marine was assigned to the 1st Marine Division. Officials declined to release further information, including the victim's gender, age and rank.
It was not immediately known if anyone else was injured in the crash.
The accident is being investigated by Pendleton's Provost Marshal's Office.
