Sentencing for man who molested young girls

Posted: Updated:

An East County photographer who molested girls in his studio will most likely die behind bars.  Sixty-six-year-old Gary Whiteside was sentenced to four back-to-back sentences of 15 years to life.

Monday, Whiteside and the mother of a victim spoke about the case.

"Although I'm clearly guilty of making some very bad decisions from the beginning, I'd like you to hear what some of the victims said. Here are some quotes from their interviews and statements. He didn't do anything wrong. I don't feel like he should be in jail. Nothing was ever forced. He never hurt me, and I don't think it's his fault,” said Gary Whiteside.

“He's blaming the victims, and he needs to blame himself. He hurt these kids and these kids are supposed to be able to trust adults, and he took all that away from them,” said Rita Paxton the Mother of Victim.

Investigators believe Whiteside molested at least nine girls from 2004 to 2008.
