OCEANSIDE, Calif. (CBS 8/CNS) -- Oceanside fire officials reported a second-alarm fire destroyed an apartment complex carport, five vehicles, a storage area and six gas meters Sunday.

No one was injured, according to an Oceanside Fire Department battalion chief.

The blaze was reported just after 1:30 a.m. at the Summit By The Lake Apartments, 4750 Calle Las Positas, Chief Bob Cotton said.

Responding firefighters evacuated two apartment buildings in the complex and extinguished the flames within a half-hour, Cotton said.

Hazardous materials crews were sent to the scene to help clear away paint and thinner in the storage building.

Cotton said the cause of the fire is still being investigated, and the value of the damage remained undetermined.
