SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A Sabre Springs business is digging out from under a muddy mess after a car backed into a fire hydrant, officials said.

The accident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 10600 block of Wexford Street.

The sheared hydrant sent water shooting about 50 feet into the air and onto a hillside, sending mud flowing into Dye Precision, a paintball company on Scripps Summit Court.

Damages were estimated at about $50,000, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

There were no injuries reported.
