Baby girl rescued from earthquake rubble after 3 days

Posted: Updated:

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (CBS 8) – Rescue crews scored a triumph among much despair in Haiti after they pulled a 16-month-old baby girl from the rubble.

The girl was pulled from a crumbled house after being trapped for three days.

An Australian television news crew was about to begin filming in the area when they hear the girl's cries and rushed to her aid.

Soon after her rescue, the girl's uncle came forward. He said he returned to the flattened house on Thursday, but could not find anyone alive, including the girl's parents and the uncle's own pregnant wife.
