Regional park crews clean up fallen trees

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A lot of trees have fallen victim to the storm that hit the county yesterday, but a citywide crew has been rapidly cleaning up.

The regional Parks Division has been cleaning up the trees that have fallen from the heavy winds this week.

The wind caused a lot of trees in Balboa Park, Mission Bay and other parts of the county to come crashing down. Since then crews have been busy with the cleanup and are preparing to do it all over again after the next storm.

"We're preparing for heavy rain, more storm debris, more palm fronds down and other rain- and storm-related debris," Regional Parks deputy director Kathleen Hasenauer said.

Even though many trees did fall all around the county, property damage has been minimal.
