Medical marijuana superstore causing controversy in Oakland

Posted: Updated:

OAKLAND, Calif. (CBS 8) – Supposedly the first of its kind, a controversial medical marijuana "superstore" is now open in Oakland.

The store, called I-Grow, is a one-stop shop for medical marijuana patients who want to grow their own plants.

The 15,000-square-foot store is located in a long-abandoned warehouse near the Oakland airport.

A doctor is on site to examine patients and give out medical marijuana cards. Experts are also available to give advice in person or over the phone.

The owner of the superstore said he got the idea from Ikea.
