Commission: Mayor & council members should receive raises

Posted: Updated:

A report by San Diego's salary setting commission shows Mayor Sanders should make more than double his current pay and city council members should each receive a nearly $100,000 raise.

The commission, which is made up of volunteers, suggests smaller increases due to political and economic factors.

The commission's president says elected officials haven't had a raise since 2003 and more than 3,000 city employees earn more than an individual council member.
