VISTA, Calif. (CBS 8) - The robbery of a Vista bank Friday marks the eighth in a series by an elderly suspect dubbed the "Geezer Bandit", the FBI said.

It happened at about 2:15 p.m. at a US Bank satellite office inside an Albertson's grocery store on East Vista Way.

The suspect, who was holding a small firearm, reportedly handed a demand note to a teller. He escaped with an unknown amount of cash.

According to the FBI, the thief matched the description of the "Geezer Bandit", who has robbed several San Diego-area banks since last August.

He is described as a white man in his 60s or 70s, about 6 feet tall and 190 pounds.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information to call them at (888) 580-8477. Callers can remain anonymous. Three separate rewards totaling $16,000 are being offered.
