SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - A Kansas man suspected of trying to molest his 16-year-old stepdaughter and leaving the state with her faces a San Diego judge Thursday.
Patrick Porter is in federal custody downtown. FBI agents say he was arrested at a hotel in Mission Bay Wednesday. He allegedly kidnapped the girl last Thursday.
Porter was wanted in Kansas for possessing child porn and having a sexual conversation with a minor to convince that child to have sex with him.
Investigators say he may have come to California to avoid prosecution.
