Fridley trial ends with mistrial on all counts

Fridley trial ends with mistrial on all counts

VISTA, Calif. (CBS 8) - A judge declared a mistrial Tuesday in the case against a woman accused of killing four people near Pala Casino after one juror could not agree the woman was the driver.

Deanna Fridley, 26, was charged with murder in a head-on collision that killed two couples near Pala Casino in 2007. Prosecutors contend she was the driver at the time, and was also drunk and high on methamphetamine.

Fridley's defense maintains that she was not driving, and that her friend Anthony Boles was behind the wheel at the time of the fatal crash.

Jurors notified Judge Runston Maino last week that they were deadlocked 11-1 against Fridley.

A retrial could start in six to eight months, according to Fridley's attorney James Boyd.
