Suspect leads police on chase from City Heights to Hillcrest

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - Police are looking for the person who led them on a high-speed chase from City Heights to Hillcrest.

The chase ended at Sixth Avenue and Upas Street where the driver crashed his car and took off on foot.

The chase started just before 11 p.m. last night on El Cajon Boulevard near Van Dyke Avenue.

Police say the driver failed to yield for a defective tail light.

The chase snaked its way through surface streets and Interstate-8 before ending up in Hillcrest where driver ran off after crashing the car

Despite an intense search, the suspect wasn't found.
