Grilling with Styles: Sweet and sour marinade

SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CBS 8) - This marinade is wonderful on chicken or fish.


1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil

Juice from 3 limes and zest from 2 limes

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 tbsp. finely diced cilantro

1/2 tsp. red chili flakes

Large pinch of kosher salt


Combine ingredients in glass bowl. This is best used on chicken but can also be used on fish. Do not over-marinade as the lime juice will break down the flesh quickly; no more than an hour for fish and two hours for chicken. When grilling be sure to oil the grill with an oiled cloth, this will help prevent sticking. Cook over a medium heat to your desired temperature.
