Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Top artists in contemporary Christian and gospel music will perform Saturday at the San Diego CityFest faith festival in Mission Bay. The festival is set to begin at noon.

The festival, put on by evangelist Luis Palau, is expected to draw huge crowds.

Recent festivals in Buenos Aires, Argentina, drew about 900,000 people.

An estimated 250,000 people attended an event in Houston, and about 300,000 people were at a concert in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Scheduled to perform are the Newsboys, Kirk Franklin, Phil Wickham, Dave Lubben, Tercer Cielo and Marisol.

There will also be action sports demonstrations featuring professional athletes in skateboarding, freestyle motocross and BMX biking.

Bob & Larry, stars of the Veggie Tales cartoons, will host a "Family Fun Zone."

The event runs from noon to 9 p.m. and admission is free.
