SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The unemployment rate in San Diego County was flat in September at 10.6 percent, the California Employment Development Department reported Friday.
The county's unemployment rate in September of last year was 10.3 percent.
Between August and September, the San Diego region added 100 jobs, but shed 4,700 jobs over the year, according to the EDD.
Government reported the greatest month-over-month gain, adding 2,100 jobs, while the leisure and hospitality sector was down by 1,300 jobs, according to the EDD.
California's unemployment rate was also unchanged at 12.4 percent in September, according to the EDD. The national jobless rate was flat at 9.6 percent last month.
