SANTEE (CNS) - All lanes of state Route 67 between El Cajon and Santee were slated to be shut down nightly through Friday morning.
The road will be closed between Prospect and Woodside avenues from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Friday morning, said Hayden Manning, spokesman for Caltrans.
Prospect Avenue between Graves and Magnolia avenues will also be shut down between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. each overnight for the work, Manning said.
The northbound Bradley on-ramp, southbound Magnolia on-ramp and Prospect Avenue off-ramp will be closed an hour earlier, at 8 p.m., he said.
The closure is at the future site of an interchange between routes 52 and 67. The "Route 52 Sunny Side Gateway" project is a $520.5 million effort to build a four-lane extension of Route 52 between routes 67 and 125.
The project also calls for a "signature bridge" over Cuyamaca Street, according to Caltrans. The project is expected to be completed by spring 2011.
