Like the thousands of other like-minded San Diegans, it's the story of another individual ready to blister up and struggle through a 60-mile weekend waltz to help cure - once and for all - breast cancer in our lifetime.
This week has been downright dangerous for training walks, with upper 90s the past few days - even at the coastline. But there's a change coming for the weekend, and that will bring temperatures down by 30F degrees or so. Yes, November will be back, just in time for the Balboa Park Race For The Cure. I'll be there, of course, along with in excess of 11,000 other San Diegans who are also working to find a cure for cancer in our lifetime.
It's also something of a warmup for the 3-Day in a couple of weeks, but one thing about Sunday you should remember whether you're going down to Balboa Park or not: we go back on Standard Time as of Sunday morning, so remember to turn your clocks back one hour before going to bed. There's nothing wrong with getting to Balboa Park an hour earlier than everyone else - and you probably won't be alone if that happens - but an extra hour of sleep does not come along that often!
