Dispatcher: Glitch led to Ohio NASA lockdown

Posted: Updated:

CLEVELAND (AP) — A police dispatcher says a computer glitch led to a lockdown at a NASA research center in Cleveland.

The sprawling NASA Glenn Research Center next to Cleveland's airport was locked down Friday morning. Loudspeakers announced "all clear" and "the emergency is over" shortly before 11 a.m.

The center is along the Cleveland-Brook Park border. The Brook Park police dispatcher was not able to elaborate on the glitch.

A NASA Glenn spokeswoman had said earlier that the facility was under "complete lockdown" while declining to confirm reports that police were searching for a gunman.

A Cleveland Hopkins International Airport spokeswoman said its operations were not affected.
